I soak my snakes usually as they are shedding.. Helps with the discomfort and itching of the shed. Like to think that it is a comfort measure for my snakes.... By the way, how often do you bath that cobra tatooed on you butt?? Hairest butt I have ever seen....

Soaking a snake would depend on what species it was and why you feel the need to soak it. There's no across to board answer to this question.

When I was working at the small local Zoo, I soaked my Snakes and other Reptiles during their sheding times. I never soaked any of my dry climate Spicies unless they truly needed it, Such needs would only be during the shed phase. Now, as for my tropical Spicies, I soaked them once evry 2 weeks or so, thats just the way I done it, I am sure evry keeper has him/her own soaking times. Just to give a exaple, I would soak my Burm's, and Retic's evry 2 weeks or less. This is just my method of doing things.......Be safe ya'll, happy herping Wally

Out of the 15 species I keep I only give the Gabby & Rhino a weekly swim. My species that are arid or desert dwellers get some misting and a wet sponge to raise humidity just after the opaque period to help with the sheding. This seems quite suficient and have no problem shedders.
