Hey ya'll, can anyone give me a good size for a Copperhead cage, as in floor size that is? I always build my own cages so I can make them the way I want them. Any help would be appreciated....Happy herping Wally

Wally,
This is my own recipe and not to be misconstrued as the best way. My rule of thumb that I've used, is I tend to make mine the length of the snake (max size at full adulthood), and half the snakes' length deep. This as I state is only my concept to give the snake a minimum comfort zone. My own cages, are double the length. I've only done this so that I can feel comfortable that I'm not cramping them up. Since my hot room isn't real large, I'm limited in the number of species I can have. Right now I'm tapped out of space due to my large cages. I also have built my own, which are very nice for viewing and safety, both things I kept in mind when building them. I know you know what you're doing, so I'll leave it at that.
Take care and happy holidays,
Matt

Wally,
I think you will get the answer you want and alot more good information by taking time to read Mardi Snipes' article,"Copperhead Basics", at the following url:http://www.venomousreptiles.org/articles/7. I hope this helps.
Later,
Todd
