Checking my invaluable field guide, I see that the normal ranges of the Dusky Pigmy Rattlesnake, Carolina Pigmy Rattlesnake and Western Pigmy Rattlesnake all overlap in Alabama. I was wondering if any of these snakes interbreed in the wild and if anyone has ever seen the result of these crosses? Thanks for your time, Karl

Yes pigmies do interbreed in overlaping ranges and can make it confusing for identifying the specie. I also play around with interbreeding pigmies and you can get a rainbow of different collored pigmies cross breeding the spcies, A carolina Red crossed with a Dusky = a Red Dusky. Carolina Reds and Carolina Greys = a Lavender phase and so on!!!
