I am a police officer and live in Anderson S.C. Due to the common knowlegde in our area that we own non-venomous snakes we are often called upon to relocate any snake that my be found. We havent had to rescue any hot ones yet but I am awaiting the time we meet up with one. I realize I am in no way prepared to deal with hot snakes at this point in my snake handling career.( I do however treat ANY wild caught snake I find as "loaded" because I am not allowed to bring anymore snakes home anyhow due to limited space so why fall in love with one) I said all that too ask this....Is there any group, person(s), or agencies in the upstate of S.C. that I could get some field exp. with? I am not necessarily looking to become hot handler I just want to be able to relocate misdirected snakes for many years non-venomous OR venomous. Thanks for your time, Jon Bowen jayybeee@aol.com

You're in luck JB. I live in Danielsville just across the Georgia line. I am a paramedic in Franklin County and occasionally bring patients over to Anderson Area Hosp.
Last year I did a class on snakebite for 50 Emergency Room physicians over there.
You can email me at charper@southernlink.net. You may even be interested in coming over and checking out my collection and letting me show you some hands on techniques.
