I walked into my snake room this afternoon and found these guys copulating..Not that it's any great feat to get this species to reproduce, it's still cool because you know you have healthy animals.

Actually, if she does conceive, it will be a great accomplishment. Not many herpers are breeding Echis in the US. They are here, but they are too few.
Hope it goes for you.

Thanks everybody..oh yeah..you too Doug..LOL
Echis is a fantastic species to keep that you seldom see in Zoo collections. I find them very different than most descriptions in books. They are shy but inqusitive snakes that are not really agressive. When they see me in the room they poke their heads out to see what's happening and I will usually open the cage to say "hello" I actually enter the cages of all my snakes on a regular basis to help them NOT associate "ME" with "FOOD". If you startle them they get defensive but prefer to retreat to their hide box. They hook nicely and are not flighty. The only down side is they're extreamly toxic and have a very quick strike. They have serious take down power for a very small snake.
I currently have two species E. carinatus and E. ocellatus (thanks WW for helping with the ID) hoping to get others.
