Bryan: I once hunted N. Floyd County. We found copperheads, timber rattlesnakes, black ratsnakes, black racers, and garter snakes.
A lot of the timbers in that area, and on up toward lookout mountain, look more like South Georgia canebrakes than "normal" mountain timbers.
It was rumored that there was a population of pygmy rattlesnakes just north of there near Subligna, GA, but we did not find any pygmys.
It has been so long ago, that I cannot remember any specific roads that we cruised. We just spent several days one late spring cruising many back roads in that area, and looking for tin to flip during the day.
Best Regards JohnZ
