Oh yeah, thanks for defending me Chuck. People like you make me still like this hobby. You have taught me alot and have always given me advice when needed. YOu have a vast knowledge of field herping as well as captive care and everything else that involves reptiles. I am truly thankful for people like you in this hobby. People that actually listen and try to help others. You are actually getting something done and teaching people while others just sit around and argue on the net. Again, thanks for all of the help you have given me.

Jeremy refering to your second to last post"YOU NEED HELP!" Phillip has already said his opinion and gone on, but you do not understand the whole thing. Don't try to ask me; you will find the answer yourself.

Jeremy,
You asked us to air out our concerns about you. Here's mine!
I think, quite frankly that your mannerism towards others is coarse, brusque, and condescending.
I think this is why people who sometimes talk to you are so much on the defensive. When you cast aspersions at the way people have learned to handle snakes by implying that the only valid experience is to go out in the woods at age 11 or 12 and grab rattlesnakes, you alienate those who could teach you more than can imagine.
By implication you also seem to state that anyone who takes up the venomous hobby as an adult are somehow inferior to you since your experience goes back to your childhood.
Do you have any idea how rare rattlesnakes and other venomous are throughout their range in most of the country? Get it through your head, we don't all live in Georgia. Though we have the same six vens that you all have, we can hope to see Cottonmouths and copperheads if we're lucky. In 28 years, I've never seen a rattlesnake in the wild.
I don't have a problem with Phillip. I do think that his goal to become Australian will eventually change when he grows older. He will realize that Australian people have to work for a living and don't go around trying to tail taipans in front of a camera. Nevertheless, he and I have spoken and I think any matter between me and him is resolved.
There are times to voice your opinion and there are times that for the sake of peace and discretion, you should bite your tongue.
If, on the other, hand, you DO feel the need to speak your peace, you can still employ discretion and temper your words with better judgment.
If there is anything else that Phillip needs to tell me or others, please let him choose his own words and opportunity.
Alex

The reason I say that my handling goes back to when I was young is because alot of people are like "Oh, I recieved the best high quality training via Dr.Whoever." "I have the most expensive tools, use tools dont freehandle!!"and I was just thinking, whatever happened to just going out in the woods and having fun and learning as you go. Nowadays herpers are made like robots. I scence you are pissed off about something?

Did anyone ever suggest that they learned handling in a laboratory and didn't go herping?
Those who learn from Dr. Whoever, are learning theory. Those who learn handling are learning in comfortable, informal, natural settings. Or at least in my case, that's true.
No one says you have to have expensive tools, but tools are best to have, or else going out to the woods and having fun can be going out to the woods and getting bit. Or sometimes the snakes get bitten by the handlers, or at least, mouth-handled. Such concepts are best consigned to the dust bin.

Im through argueing. I respect you Alex, I really do. I was just trying to defend myself the best I could. I know that you have alot more experience than I do and I could learn a thing or two from you. I said my side of the story and have heard everyone elses opinion on me and I respect all of you guys' opinions. I do consider myself a safe keeper. I have freehandled in the past but its nothing that I plan on doing in the future. I did it and luckily I didnt get bitten in the process.
