I recently bought a green tree python from a pet store. It was communicated that he was a good eater. Its been over a month now and he still hasn't eaten. I feed him at dusk or at night. Its over a year old and in its color changing stage and fairly docile which would support that its captive born. Its as healthy as can be so I would think its been feeding ok before I purchased it. I feed it freshly killed hoppers or small mice using tongs and when I can not gets its attention I resort to teasing. This easily get his attention but every snap results in a quick release. He is a male and I've read that they go extended periods(up to 6 months) without eating and only eat when ready. I keep the cage nice and warm. I've also noticed that he spends more time lately(not initially) on the ground and not on his limbs. Please advise

Hi ,
I'm no expert on pythons ,but you might want to try dipping you mice or rats in chicken broth .
I seen it on a document on TV . The people who done this were python breeders who had some tough pythons to feed. Also your tree pythons in the wild will catch
birds to eat. And that's where the chicken broth might help. Hope this can help you out . Good luck .
