I would add Louis Porras and Alejandro Solarzano to the list. They have contributed volumes to Neotropical herpetology, particularly venomous snakes.

There's more than one category of person to be entered into this section. Anyone in the venomous community who has accomplished something reputable is eligible. We're a bit hesitant about people with a little too much controversy in their lives. Almost all of the names submitted so far are great. While I was at the Daytona show, I took a few photos of some people specifically for the spotlight section. Rom Whitaker was one of those people.

Funny, I was about to suggest Rom Whitaker. I also like seeing Mark O’Shea, Bill Haast and Wolfgang Wuster. Joe Slowinski surely deserves to be added, the man done so much wonderful work for the Venomous and Non-Venomous of India, Burma, USA, and a lot of other places. It was a true shame to see him pass on “a true Reptile advocate” I think he is one of the most Upstanding People in the Herping Community. While that may be, Phillip, Tanith abhors publicity and does not wish to be highlighted in any way on the internet.
