rattlers and philipine

hi
i was wondering what a good first rattler to keep was, i live in NC so not edb or pigmys.
Also i need some basic info on the Philippine pit-viper, captive care, venom and bite severity, and where could i find them for sale, I have had troubles finding info on this species.

Hi,
I would suggest C. ruber or, for a smaller snake, S. m. barbouri or streckeri (these pygs are legal in NC). Also S. c. edwardsi.
Another that you might consider are the C. lepidus, although they are getting hard to find and are expensive.
I think the C. ruber is the easiest to get along with.
I'm afraid I can't help on the philipine.
