Is possible to feed Ophiophagus Hannah with rodents?.
This question is because in a few week i hope to get a King Cobra, and donīt have much space to breed milk snakes or so.
Thanks a lot

What my friend does during the winter is wrap bits of thawed blacksnakes around rodents. His kings take this quite well. That being said, you should be aware that the digestive system of O hannah is not made to deal with rodents so the digestive process will end with a urination, a defication and a passing of the hair and whatever else the rodent has that the snake cannot digest.
Cheers
Roger

When we keep snakes, we want to recreate as much of their natural environment as possible. Especially with kings, most of which are wild caught. So if you are gonna keep one then give the king his due and feed him what he deserves, if not.....don't keep one

Thanx for the answers.
But my question was about if I can give different food to my snake, not about his natural habits. This one will be CB, but I donīt like the idea of sacrifice many of the snakes I have. I would like to know about the posibility of an alternative feeding.
After all, I want to have this one and, if i canīt feed 'em with other species, I feed it with snakes, without doubt about this.
I wait for more answers. When finally I get 'em, you'll have news about him, is a promise ;-)
Bye.

The King has come...
Now we're in Spring, lot of natrix are around my home (for a little time, hehe). But I'd like to know if I can feed the King with other kind of prey.
In the north-west of Spain, where I live, snakes are around only in later spring, early autmn. The snakes that are here = natrix natrix. Is no difficult to catch and offer they, but I don't want to mermate the fauna in here (Iīve heard Ophiophagus are great feeders).
What can you say me about this?
Thanks
