Stricking force is the last thing you need to worry about with the EDB,speed, stricking distance and the amount of venom he delivers is what is recognized.

Thank you for your reply Jeff. Yes I know the EDB is a.
champion among the crotalids. With a striking
speed up to 170 miles per hour and enough venom to kill 4-6, maybe even up to 8,men.And as for distance they can strike up to two thirds their length.
Truly they are the king of rattlers.

Speaking of Kings, I agree, even though the timber/canebrake is my favorite, the EDB is truly the King of rattlesnakes. Maybe even the second largest viper in the world, i'm not sure, that's not my area, but has anyone considered the "court jester" the copperhead. For entertainment purposes, you haven't seen ?<"} until you've seen an 18" to 24" truly pissed off copperhead dance. they're like tossing a cat into fireant mound. They start striking when you're 10 feet away and don't stop till you're out of site. Although i consider them the "least dangerous", i consider them "the most likely" "to get you". i have had atrox, horridus and many others, but the copperhead is the hardest to get to cooperate. Even my atrox behaved better and he hated the world. I know this doesn't provide any insite on this topic, but i know there are several of you out there that can relate.
