I think he's out of the snake business. I saw an add where he was selling many of his cages and now his website is down. The realities of making a living in this business and supporting a family I would guess are the causes.
Just my analysis.

I think that he is restructuring the site to focus more on photography of herps. He should be at the Lowcountry Expo.

He is defiantly not out of the business. He still has more pigmies then anyone in the world. At one time this market was strong for retailing venomous reptiles, but that time has past. I think he is restructuring his operation to more of a breeding facility, rather then a retail in and out operation. I asked him about his site last week and he didn’t respond, so he must want to keep what ever he is doing under wraps.

I'm sure he is a great guy but his business practice is less than desired. Hard to get him to return a call and if you got what you bought in a month you were lucky.

My husband and I have our own website and I design as well.
I was in contact with Mardi for a while and was in the process of re-designing his site from the ground up. When I sent him a mock-up, he said he would get back to me with some changes and I could not get a hold of him after that.
I feel that he is no longer in the business of reptiles and is concentrating on his "day job". It is true that he never replied in a timely manner. I had to send several emails to him before I received a response.
