About 3 weeks ago I was out collecting, and I caught a beautiful 3ft. Red Diamond Rattlesnake. After having him about 3 days I decided I would try to feed him. To my suprise he was fairly aggressive in eating a white feeder mouse. About 2 weeks ago he defecated so I thought another feeding session might be in order. I've tried twice and he's just not showing any interest now. Does he need more time to adjust to his new enviorment? Should I try something other than WHITE feeder mice? I don't AT ALL feel experienced enough to force feed. What should I do?!

You might try a darker color mouse, although the fact that it ate a white one makes me think that is not the problem. Make sure the interior of the cage is set up so that the snake can feel secure. If there's not a hidebox in the cage, that may well be the problem. Under no circumstances should you force-feed the animal. If, after one or two more attempts at getting it to eat, it still refuses food, you probably ought to take it back out to where you caught it & release it.
