How far south? If Florida City is in range for you, we can use some help at the Everglades Outpost. Email me with some info like your age, level of experience with non-venomous, and what days you're availible, and we'll see if we can work something out.
At the moment, the main requirements for the permit are:
1) 1000 logged, verifiable hours working with venomous.
2) A secure room that must be inspected by Fish and Game.
3) $100 per year permit fee.
4) No life, so you can put in the hours. :)
There's been discussion at the TAG meetings of deviding the permit into levels where the lower levels would require fewer hours, but I haven't heard anything solid on whether that will really happen.
