Very weird. I saw my first snake of the year on Saturday evening while road cruising my favorite area for copperheads. No, it was a copper, but it was technically venomous! It was a wee Storeria (dekay's) that I managed to shoo off the road before it became part of the pavement.

i got my first rattler, beleive it or not,on sat. it was about 3 1/2 ft.(canebrake). i also happened across a really tame garter the same day, which i kept.i now realize i have no use for a garter snake, and will be letting him go very soon! i know,i know,i should have left it,but you guys have all been tempted to keep 75% of the stuff you see!(ok,maybe just me....!)

I saw a Southern Ring-Necked Snake out sunning himself on the edge of a concrete driveway on Thursday, March 2 . It was about 2:30 in the afternoon.

I caught my first snake of the year today. It was a garter snake. It was about 14 inches, and moving along pretty good. After a quick inspection, turned it loose, and away iy went. I live in Charlotte, NC. It was near 75 F for about 3 days here.
