Hy guys,
My Trimeresurus popeiorum died yesterday.
I have no ideea why.
5 days befor it died it started acting strange, it was constantly yawning. The yawns took up to several minutes. This happened for 2 days.
In the last 3 days of its life it wouldn`t climb on it`s branches which was again, very, very weird.
Finaly, yesterday, I saw it lieing dead on the substrate.
I have no ideea why this crap happened, I didn`t even have time to react, it took me completely by surprise.
It realy sucks...it always does when s**t like this happens...
Best regards, Alex S.

Alex: I am sorry to hear that your Trimeresurus died. It is always bad to loose an animal.
Many years ago, I had a Trimeresurus that died with similar symptoms to those you describe. I have no idea what caused its death, although it was a wild caught snake, and might have had some kind of parasites.
Best Regards JohnZ

Very sorry to hear that Alex. Was it some sort of respiratory illness do you think? Maybe too much humidity? Mark

Alex:
Sorry to hear that :-( It sound like a paracytic infection. Those sort of things kill 60% of captive reptiles.

Hy guys,
Thanks for the support.
I honestly don`t know for sure but I guess the most logical explinations would have been a paracitic infection or a respiratory infection. I kept this snake for more than 1.5 years...
Best regards, Alex S.
