Today (11 Apr), I motored down from still semi-Arctic Susquehanna to the Water Gap NRA and trekked (an hour and fifteen minutes on foot) into my favorite den. The result was one garter snake, two black racers, three black rats and a smallish (two foot +/-) TIMBER. The garter and one of the racers were moving out. The others were merely sitting on their stoops in the heart of the den.
Maybe, if you people down south can send a few days of muggy eighty degree air up here, even the coppers will poke their heads out.
