I have looked everywhere I can Online to try and find info on Keeping Venomous and Non-Venomous Reptiles in the Great State of Texas, yet the results are still very Vague. I was wondering if anyone on SHHS would have a clue as to what you can Keep and what you cant? The reason I want to know this, is that we are thinking of moving to Texas. If anyone has any In-depth info on the Reptile Laws in Texas, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks Ya’ll. .................Be Safe Ya’ll, Happy Herping : Wally

I went through the same thing before I moved out here. What I found out is that they don't have a State law on keeping hots, it's regulated by the county/city you are moving to.
Where I live, I had to find a house outside city limits, as the city completely prohibits hot keeping.
So check the local laws where you're wanting to move.

The only regulation regarding hots in Texas is that you need to have a permit for Crotalus horridus. And by that, you need an individual permit for each individual snake. Other than that, all hots are allowed, and like Larry said, they're just city/county regulated. Hope this helps. - David
