This isn't neccessarily about venomous reptiles, but I was wondering if any of you can help me with finding a college of some sort that offers herpetology. I absolutely love snakes, and I've always wanted a job that deals with them. So I would greatly appreciate the help, Thanks tons.

I've been told that Texas A&M has a great program, but they don't offer a degree in 'Herpetology' you have to declare your major to be Animal Science and just specialize in herpetology. *that may have changed because I talked to them while I was in college and that's been a couple of weeks at least*
I think very few schools (if any) offer a degree specifically in herpetology.

I've been told that Kansas has a real good Herpetology department. But I think it is the same. You have to get a degree in animal science and specialize in reptiles. I was talking to a guy the other day and he said there wasn't a such thing as a degree in herpetology. Your degree is in biology and again you just specialize in herpetology. I don't know if this is true or not but just thought I would add it. SSR.

Shay,
There are tons of Universities that offer courses in Herpetology. But you can't major in herpetology at any University. The closest you could probably get would be the University of Florida which has a lot of classes on reptile and amphibian biology.
Most Universities with good biology programs should have herpetology as a college course. There are herpetologists teaching all over the country and herpetology tends to be a class that many students are interested in.
So if you are serious about going to college for herpetology then you should enroll at a University that has a good biology program and major in zoology, biology, ecology, etc... and then take their course in herpetology and hopefully even work with the herpetologist at that particular University. If a University has a herpetology class then they should offer the course every other spring.
Just look at the biology department website of whatever University you are interested in.
Good luck,
Robert
