Does anyone else here name thier venomous snakes, or do you just call them "the big EDB" and "my copperhead". If you do name them, do you make clever, quippy names for them or do you name them after your favorite relative -or your mother-in law ;). Just curious.

Most of my snakes tend to ramain unnamed since I have so many and I can barely remember may family's names...
I have named my forest cobras, but their names are both unfit for public discussion.
My girlfriend's snakes tend to get named though:
Boa: Bobo (just sounded good)
Blue Beauty: Diamond (after his side pattern)
Yellow Rat: Stinky (for obvious reasons)
Sand Boa: Sausage (pretty obvious)

Yes.
My wdb`s name is Klopotzake. (it`s derived from the romanian name for rattle).
My pope`s viper (RIP) was named Poppy.
My puff adders are named: Puficu (tha male) and Pufitza (the female).
My californian king`s name is Rexa (it`s a nonliterary derivation from Rex - latin for king. I actualy mean quen by Rexa).
Stupid names, I know :)
Anyway...happy herping!

Yeah its daft i know but we all feel affectionately towards our snakes even though they dont recognize their names!! My King Snake is called "Theoden" after a character from lord of the rings. My corn snake is called "Bindy" after Steve Irwin's daughter lol! My V. ammodytes is called "monster" coz thats what she is, a little monster!! I have'nt named my Urocoan Rattler yet, cant think of an appropiate name at the moment as i've only had her a week!! Mark.

Yes I also name my charges...not sure why. I have two crotalus oreganus, Bugs and Capone, Three contortrix, Penny, Damian and Rosey, and one Dusky, Rouge, who my son named. They are like members of the family...but they don't eat at the dinner table and they never complain about left overs.
