I have kept hots for about 6 years while living in West Virginia. I recently moved to Florida and would like to continue keeping hots, but 1000 hours is rediculous. Are there any loop holes for a seasoned keeper new to the area.

It doesn't matter if the 1000 hours was in Florida or not. It just has to be documented. Two people have to write letters stating they have personal knowledge that you have more than one thousand hours and more than one year of experience... don't try to fudge anything though, if they catch u then you'll never get a permit

I also had to list two hospitals that carried and administered serum. Plus your caging has to be lockable and of approved thickness of glass. There are a few more requirments you need to meet to get approved for the first time. check out

This is the exact requirments needed to be met to get your first permit issued. The hours are a b*tch but "rules are rules", I did mine and I am thankful for the training. There are alot of nice people out there that will help you if you need to get the hours.
Alot of us are like a big family.
Welcome to Florida.
