Grandparents hate snakes and wont let me keep any in the house. I'd like to set up a outdoor enclosure but not sure what to do when winter arrives. Hibernate the snake(s)?
What kind of enclosure could I build and how to keep the snake(s) fit and healthy throughout the seasons? All info welcomed.
Thank you

I think it would be too difficult to maintain proper temperatures for snakes in outdoor cages. Of course they live outside, but they go below ground to thermoregulate and they couldn't do that in a cage. You may also have a problem with ants and mites other things like that.

Bill Haast is maintaining Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes in an outdoor enclosure. You might look into his setup although it may require more land than you have available.
