I don't know if I qualify ..... I'm a former "hot" keeper and I live about an hour or so west of what is traditionally considered "Tidewater" .... I'd be happy to share what I know about keeping snakes in general and venomous specifically.... I can be reached through email ... blackpak@yahoo.com ...

I am just West of Waverly, Virginia. Waverly is about a 50 minute drive down Rt 460 from downtown Suffolk....
Species I have kept in the past include, but are not limited to: Gaboon vipers, Rhino Vipers, Puff Adders, (Several) Rattlesnake ssp., Monocled and Spectacled cobras, Black-necked spitting cobras, Asian (N. sputatrix) spitters, Banded Egyptian cobras.... I've also kept all three ssp. of Cottonmouths, and three ssp. of Copperhead(s).... That's all I can remember except for some rear-fanged species... mangroves, etc...
As stated earlier, I'd be more than willing to share any "wisdom" I may have in regard to keeping venomous or non-venomous species. Over the years, I've kept a few hundred snakes and have even managed to get some of them to reproduce in captivity in spite of my short comings.
