The Animal Rights Movement seeks to change American Culture through a campaign of fear, misinformation & media sensationalism.
In recent years several loosely affiliated Animal Rights (AR) groups have been spending untold amounts of money in an effort to influence individual state legislatures and the public to end hunting, fishing, trapping, livestock farming, rodeo and various types of animal ownership. The leadership role has been taken by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA) with a broad agenda of ending all animal ownership or use. But the point position has been taken by the Animal Protection Institute (API) from Sacramento, CA. They have a more focused agenda of pushing state legislatures to ban trapping and exotic animal ownership. Even the once respectable Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has abandoned their once noble position as an advocate for animal welfare to using their money and influence to promote AR positions such as calling reptiles unsuitable for private ownership, and encouraging our public schools to abandon their use as educational tools. All of these organizations use slick well funded multi-media propaganda pieces that are misleading and exploit public sympathy and fears. Some of these campaigns directly target children in an effort to turn them against their parents depicting them as murderers of animals. They collectively create an environment that encourages even more radical groups such as the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) to employ violent and destructive tactics that amount to nothing less than Eco-Terrorism. The number one priority for the AR Movement is to force their narrow ideology on everyone no matter what the cost… the end justifies the means for these fanatic ideologues.

I hate to say this, but, I have known that this Sick, and Closed-Minded people were involved in this from the start. Think about it. How many times have we seen these Self-Centered Groups try and take away peoples Rights to have Mice for Feeding, Hamsters as Pets, Chickens for Eating, Milk for Drinking, and countless other things I could list? It is truly ridiculous, is it not?
If they had it their way, we would all be Vegetarians “ I mean nothing bad by this” and we wouldn’t even own a Dog.
I see these people as being the Least Intelligent of Animal Lovers.
Just my personal $0.02, hoping not to upset anyone. I just get tired of seeing these so called AR Groups thinking they can dictate what Animals are Kept by who, I mean Lord, Keeping Children in Schools from being able to Learn From Reptiles that are Kept Comfortably in some of the Nicest Cages you could find is truly ridiculous.

They are more dedicated to the Ideology than the animals themselves. Many of these AR activists live in urban settings and are far removed from the natural world. Many know very little about the animals that they hope to "SAVE" and care little for the lives and passions they would destroy in the process. In fact the ideology says that euthanasia is preferable to living in captivity. Very sad... but true.

It is strange that they would rather see an Exotic Animal Killed than Kept in Captivity. If we look at the Ideology they Promote, you can see the lake of Knowledge they have about the Natural World around them. It shows that they do not see the Hole Picture and have no idea that if it wasn’t for Privately Kept Reptiles, we would not have the Knowledge we do today about these Animals.
On another note, I know people that totally depend on Insulin to keep their selves out of an early Grave “this includes my Wife”. As we all know, the development of this Drug called Insulin was possible because of the Studies done on Lab Mice. Now, if our Scientist would have restrained from using these Animals, a lot more people would have Died from Full-Blown Diabetes. So, I know that using Animals in Medical Research upsets some people, but if it wasn’t for the use of these Animals, where would these people be today?
As we all know, the use of Venomous Snakes in Laboratory Conditions is to obtain Venom for the Development of (AV) Antivenom, and Studies are also being done on the possible use of Venom in Curing Cancer, use as a Pain Killer, and countless other Medical possibilities. Now, I know that your Average Keeper does not have the capability to do this Research at home, but a lot of these Keepers do allow Doctors to use their Animals in this Research. So you see, we as Privet Reptile Keepers do make a deference.
So you see, these AR Groups Have no idea of the Damage they would do by Outlawing the Privet Keeping of Reptiles (Especially Venomous Reptiles).
