The one that is chasing you at the moment, LOL !
I am just curious why folks so often want to label things "the most" ?
Each snake is in individual, and temperments can vary a lot.
There are many accounts of "aggressive" behavior from Black Mambas, Forest Cobras, Tiapans, King Cobras, etc.
However, there are many accounts of these snakes being docile also.

I have worked with 3 of the 4 mambas, including polylepis, a dozen or so species & subs of Naja, Haemachatus, & Pseudahaje. Not to mention most of the Bitis, several Agkistrodon, foreign & domestic, a dozen or so Crotalus & Sistrurus. The closest behavior I have seen to aggression in a snake was from a Coluber constrictor priapus. Anytime anyone describes a snake's behavior as aggressive, I submit that what they have witnessed was defensive behavior..including that of the black racer I mentioned.

Greg, it is interesting that you mention Coluber constrictor, as I had a run in with one in a swamp in N. Florida once, and that snake was as closest to being called "aggressive" of any snake I have ever dealt with. Dont know if it was some kind of territoriality thing or if I just walked up on it and it was having a bad day, LOL, but it would not let me pass, and it put on the greatest threat display I have ever seen. Yeah, John..I don't make this stuff up. Actually, I did see a C. adamanteus acting"aggressively" once, but there were mitigating circumstances. She was guarding recently born young. I have seen that written up once, in one of Kauffeld's books. To see it in the wild was sumpin' else. The racer still trumps that, though.
