Hello Everyone
I have been a member of this forum for a while now and looking over it for a while before that. I figure it's time to introduce myself.
My name is Eric I'm 28yo engaged and soon to be married. I also have a baby girl on the way in 17 weeks. Yes I'm counting lol she will be named Isabelle Marie Grace and with a little luck will love reptiles. I'm gonna try to get her involved but she might follow her mother and do the girly girl thing and just say yuck there slimy :) Anyway.
I have been poking reptiles with sticks since I was little guy. I have kept a little bit of everything. I started working with venomous snakes when I was around 12-13yo that's only outside and natives mostly copperheads. I didn't keep a venomous snake till I was 21-22 they were pygmy rattlers then on to copperheads. I got my first exotic venomous snake shortly after I turned 27yo
My first exotic was an albino monocled cobra which I kept for a year and did fine with him but got a little nervious when I found out I had a little one on the way. Mainly I thought if that 3 1/2 ft snake keeps that temperment at 6-7ft I would be out league. I traded him to a vendor at the reptile show and will get some more exsperience before going down that road again. :) He really wasn't that bad I just need a little more exsperience on my end to be safe with an adult.
I now have a 0.1 Gaboon,0.0.3 rhinos, and 0.0.1 Atheris Hispida which I hope will live to a ripe old age.
Well there's a little about me. I doubt anyone will want to read all that but hey I tried. :)

Eric,
Thanks for introducing yourself and welcome to the site. I look forward to reading your future posts. Congrats, on the upcoming marriage, and daughter to be. Marriage and parenthood surely make a difference in this hobby. As for your daughter possibly siding with her mother's philosophy on snakes... Think of the money you'll save! I have a daughter myself that breaks me every time we go to a reptile show. She has more reptiles than I do!

Or she could end up with a split personality. My little girl loves to put on her dresses and play with her rat snake. She is very careful, however, not to wear pink dresses when she plays with Kernel because one time I jokingly told her that her outfit clashed with her snake. I guess I should have gotten her a chain or Cali king snake. Black and White go with everything ;)
Welcome to the club

Thank everyone!
I can't see how my daughter would not like snakes being she will grow up with them but I'm willing to bet she will be a little priss as well. LOL Either way will be fine by me at this point I'm just praying for healthy 10 fingers 10 toes. :)

Eric, she may or she may not...it doesn't matter if she is growing up with them. My son has all kinds of animals and yes, he has his own snake. He doesn't have much interest in it though. He takes very good care of it, the cage is clean and the snake is fed - I don't ever see him take it out or look at it. He has it just because I have snakes. Strangely enough out of all the pets we have, he likes their food the best :D
His favorite animals are chickens!
