Olen, if you go to Google and search "Arkansas herpetological societies" you will get a list of several in your state.
You might want to check the web sites of each to see if they are near where you live, and if their interests match yours.
Since I do not live in that state, I can not tell you about any of them, however, we have a few members here who live in your state, and they will probably offer you some suggestions also.
Best Regards JohnZ

Arkansas has two herp societies: the Central Arkansas Herp Society, which was established first, and the Arkansas Herp Society, which was established a few years ago. The AHS can be found at http://www.snakesofarkansas.com and the CAHS can be found at http://members.aol.com/harbard/cahshome/cahshome.html?f=fs.
Where in Arkansas are you? The CAHS is more concentrated around Little Rock and the AHS has more members in North or NW AR. I'm in a small town outside of Russellville, and keep a few hots and nons. I teach at a small school a little west of here in Magazine, AR (our mascot is the Rattlers, go figure).
