They would have to be pretty small sticks, but I suppose it would work. I prefer a 200 degree oven for about an hour,or what I usually do is put them in my chest freezer for a week or 2. MartyM

so what do you think kills parasites better? extreme heat for an hour, or extreme cold for a week? because i really do not feel like spending 50 bucks on artificial tree limbs.

I've used both methods and both work fine. Some of the pieces were too big for the oven so I froze them for a while.Just depends on the size of the branch, and the size of your oven or freezer.I guess if I could use either one I'd go with the oven because its quicker. I also mix in oak leaves with my substrate to give it a more natural look, and those I collect in a trash bag and freeze for at least a week. MartyM
