Hap, as John said get to know the curaters. Unfortunately we are in a lawsuit happy society so, liability is always an issue with any zoo. You might have better luck at the Wildlife Worl Zoo if you are near Phx. They are a smaller private facility and my guess is that they are a little more personable too.

yes a copperhead is a good first venomous it's not what i started out with but i have been catching and keeping hots for along time i'm about to be 16 in a couple days but when i was four i lived in arkansas and i caught a juvenile timber rattler ever since then my mom knew i liked snakes but my mom unlike most moms was okay with it when i was in elementary school thats when i started to keep cottonmouths because we lived by a river now i keep mojave rattlers, massasaugas,western daimond backs and copperheds, i'm waiting on the new texas permits so i can get some naja species and alot more so good luck with the copper,arin
