The term tagged probably comes form an old childrens game that was called "tag" or "freeze tag."
Is anyone here old enough to remember that one ?

Aisle is correct, but it sure looks funny when spelled, LOL !
English has to be a very confusing language for new folks to this country, as it is a mix of hundreds of languages that came here along with the Immigrants.

"Tag" is very much alive, as is "hide and go seak", "truth or dare", and "spin the bottle", etc. I think some school districts banned "tag" a year or so ago, but don't remember the reason.

Tag! Ha! We played "Kill the Man with the Ball" and tackle football in the street...in the rain!
:) Actually we did play tag before that.
I sort of missed out on Spin the Bottle though. :(
