I think many of us have discussedm debated, questioned, and basically torn apart the "most dangerous snake in the world" topic. What I'd like to know is this: Which hot bite would simply be the most painful? It can kill you or not, doesn't matter. I'd love to hear your opinions, experiences, and stories.

I'd say this story, as told by the man, Bill Haast, himself, takes the cake. He is recounting a bite from a krait back in the 50s. I simply could not imagine going through something like this...

Pain is subjective! If you ask any person who was just bitten and they will tell you that the most painful bite is from the snake that just bit you. I have treated children who were bitten and act like it is nothing, and I have treated adults who thrash around asking to have a limb cut off to stop the pain. Pain is in the eye of the person feeling it.

That's true. Some of us can deal with it better than others. I remember when I first got into reptiles. The first time I was ever bit, was by a 3 foot burm. I thought it was the most painful thing I'd ever experianced (it actually coiled and would not let go of my hand.) But since then, I've been nailed by several various pythons, boas, etc,...........I've gotten to the point where I worry more about getting blood on my clothes or carpet than the actual bite.
