I am currently working on a complete and comprehensive reference for managing snakebites and am coming to you the keepers and other treatment specialists for as much info as possible in addition to all the other reference materials I already have.
I would like to include species specific bite protocols members have written that could be faxed from the poison center to the ED to aid in a bite, photos of handling, species photo's, antivenom package inserts, treatment specialist contact info, scientific info including venom mass spectrometry, diagrams, etc.
John-any photos of your product would be great along with application photo's. Also anyone wishing to contribute specific chapter info will be credited as a contributing author and photographers will be credited for any photos. Julian White and Richard Dart just published a treatment guide but I believe this can be expanded upon to create a truly comprehensive reference assisting with identification and removal of snakes, prehospital management, ED and inpatient management, discharge from the hospital and outpatient follow-up, treatment flowsheets, faxable bite protocols, etc.
Anyone wishing to contribute please drop me an email for further info. I think we as a community are the best people to write such a reference both from the medical community and keeper community. Thanks
