Juvenile snakes need to be fed more often than adults.
For now, you could feed the boa once every 7 to 10 days, or 3 to 4 times a month.
As he gets larger, you will be feeding larger food items, however, you will not have to feed as often.

If the snake is not hungry, he will show little interest in food. If he is hungry, he will be more active and will often be searching around the cage.
Also, if you feed him, after the meal has made it through the digestive system, and he has messed his cage, then it is probably about time to feed again.
