Does anyone have/know a statistic for:
Of the 7-8000 venomous snake bites that occur in North America, on average how many end with some sort of amputation?
Thanks!

There was a researcher at the CDC compiling some information on envenomation in the US, I have not seen anything reported yet. I am not sure how long after a bite that sequelae are reported, but I am aware of a few instances in which the amputation took place 12 months or so post incident.
As has been discussed before, there is no central repository of this information, and some are unreported. The Poison Control Centers are likely to have the best available data. That information is still likely to be incomplete.

I have been hit a time or two and lost my finger to a pictigaster. the day after the bite a blister formed at the tip of my finger. In a couple of hours it consumed most of my finger.A necrotizeing hematoma killed that poor little guy Imiss him so much.
