I started keeping hots at 11.Tho for some one to sell a minor a cobra is way beyond any thing you would call irresponcible. I do not belive rob would do that knowingly.Or any one else at glades. I do not think age is a factor in ability but it is in legality. This thread is the kind of thing I fear .If a 16 year old is tagged by a cobra and we as a society allowed a sale to this minor with out voiceing our opinions. At that point we have dug our hobby a shallow grave and given the coffin maker his nails. THANKS ARCHIE.

Well, since this young man is already keeping a respectable collection, it's doubtful you are going to talk him out of it. And, now, it's doubtful he will come here and ask any further questions.
I guess he will just be learning by trial and error now?
I guess that will be better for him, and our hobby?
I'm sure he'll be back when he wants another hard time.
Now, does this mean I'm in favor of young people keeping hots? Not really. However, this could second-nature for him, and he could grow up to be the next Rom Whitaker, Bill Haast, or Ross Allen.
If he's already this far in I think that it's our duty to the hobby to help mentor him and provide as much help as we can rather than hammering him and driving him underground to survive on his own.
Now, if this was some guy with a Agkistrodon he had caught in his backyard I might be joining in the attempts to encourage him to get out and wait a few years.
But if he's already flying at 30,000 feet and doing loops it's a bit late to throw him out of the plane, so we might as well help teach him to fly safely.
