I am a 36 year old male that has been working with non-venomous snakes for many years. I would like to move to rattlesnakes and would like to try to find a mentor in the Huntsville Alabama area. Are there any on this site? I am not deciding to keep venomous (Hot) snakes on a whim. I have been facinated with rattlesnakes since I lived in Arizona. I would greatly appreciate if someone experienced could help me along. I have already check my area and as long as the venomous snake is not a non-indiginous snake it is allowed. Could someone please help with this. Thank you for your help.

Michael, we have a number of members in your area who might be able to help.
However, you will get a much better response if you fill in more of your Profile, so that folks will know a bit more about you, and how to contact you off of the forum by Email.
Best Regards

Thank you. I was fixing to setup my profile. I had to get a couple of things taken care of for work before I could get it done. I am glad that I found this site.

I appreciate that I can read about the care and handling of a hot here but I am more interested in learning hands on which I feel is better. There is no substitute to having someone show you the proper and safe way to deal with most animals especially if they are able to kill you or you kill it if you handle them wrong. I have handled Western Diamondbacks before but my family had no care of their well being. I on the otherhand want to care for my animals as much as for myself. The last thing that I want to do is get my new Eastern Diamondback and injure it because I handle it wrong. I figure there are plenty of people on here that have learned from someone else because they wanted to learn the proper way. From what most people on here say, they want to help new people. I hope that someone on here is from my area and is serious about wanting to help the new guy. Thank you for your time and I hope to find help on here soon. I am really in need of help because I have two Eastern Diamondbacks that are supposed to be delivered in the next three weeks. Thanks again.

Michael, you should not have any trouble finding someone within 50 Miles of Huntsville. I would offer to help, but I don't even keep at home anymore.
I don't know if you have, but have you had any experience working with Venomous Specimens in the field. If not I could help you with that part of it, and in some ways working with Venomous in their own homes can teach you better Handling Methods.

That would be great. I have only handled them enough to catch them with snake tongs and put them in a bag. I would relly like to work with them in the wild. How can I get ahold of you?
