In the above link mac142 (A member of this forum) asked FEB 12th 2009, "What would you do if your state passed a law banning the captivity of all venomous reptiles? This is for people that live in states that allow them. If your state does not allow them and you keep them anyway please do not answer this question"
You can read the topic but in short I replied with a comment that pretty much was telling mac142 how to get away with it.
Buzztail1 replied, "I would caution you on how you respond to these types of forum questions.
Several Law Enforcement Officers from several different agencies visit our website on a regular basis.
Several busts have referenced this site."
Here comes the intresting part. Today (FEB 25 2009) guess who showed up at my door asking to see my cages, setup and taking pictures. That's right Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Quencidence? Who knows! It's funny how things like that play out sometimes! As I said in my post to mac142 in the above link... they come by my house and I don't mind. He was cool and was very friendly to my son.

Just to clarify, I do not work for any DNR or any other wildlife agency. I do work for the government but, my job has absolutely nothing to do with wildlife. My intention was not to have anyone come to anyone’s home for any reason. I guess Mr. Betz was absolutely correct.

I certainly hope it was coincidence but, as I have said many times, Law Enforcement Officers from all over the country check this site.
I have personally had Fish and Game, Department of Natural Resources, Park Rangers (both local and federal) and various other LEOs from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Arizona, and California recognize me in public and come up to talk to me.
Most of them recognize my posts from their work computers. For what it is worth, every single incident that I have had with LEOs has been positive.
I just think that way too many people assume that posting on the Internet is the same as talking in whatever room your computer is in. That is just not the case. People say things that they would never say in the presence of an officer (or even their mom!) and don't realize that the next person to read what they have typed may be charged with checking them out.
Be careful what you post.
Follow the laws which apply to you.
Set a good public example which the rest of the herp keeping community can respect.

WOW Karl and to think of all those time I posted in the Marijuana forums few years back thinking I was safe. Fortunately the DEA never kicked in my door! Few! Of course I wouldn't speak so freely about it here if I still smoked or whatever... That's great info you posted. I will now be much more secretive on the internet when I need to be.
