Back in the day, I used to breed these little guys by the hundreds. At count back then; (early 90s) there were around 112 recognized forms of the Dart frogs (even after the split of the mantellas). As was stated, many of these are indeed drab little fellows.

Actually Cro, I found your observation about the cryptic vs. aposematic traits of Homo sapiens to be hilarious. I definitely lean towards the cryptic...
Perhaps these little frogs found that staying hidden saved them from being stewed by Indians collecting poison for their arrows?
