I am not in the South Florida area, but a word of advice would be fill out your profile as completely as possible. You will get much more and better responses from people if you tell them a little more about yourself. Welcome to the site.

Mike, Welcome to the site. We have a number of members in South Florida who might be willing to help you.
However, you will get a much better response by filling in more of your Profile, and letting folks know more about your experience level with reptiles, and by providing contact information.

Mike, while they're not always easy to find, a mentor is by far the way to go when getting started with hot herps. Hopefully someone willing to help will spot your post and give you a hand. You certainly have a good attitude about it. Best of luck.
