Hey guys,
I caught a 4'-4.5' black rat snake on the 24th of February.
It has eaten 3-4 times since then, and has defecated/urinated about 5-6 times.
His urates are pretty wet, and green. It looks a lot like guacamole.
Is the green urate part normal?
Besides that he is a great snake... He ate a prekilled mouse the day after he was caught.
Thanks in advance for the answers!

Jon, the green color is usually not a good sign.
However, we are talking about an animal that has just come out of hibernation, and is digesting his first meals of the year. There might be some residual waste products that the snake is eliminating, because of it living off of fat reserves during the winter hibernation.
Like any new snake, it should be isolated from the rest of your collection, until you can determine if it has problems.
I would coninue to feed and monitor it, and see if the problem clears up over the next month or two.
PS. That is a great snake hook that you sent to me.
Best Regards

John, I am keeping it away from the rest of my collection.
I'll keep an eye on it for sure.
I'm glad you like the hook,
