It's me again...kat. and I thank y'all for including me in your discussions. I am responding re: rat snakes. As a 10-year old kid in Memphis, TN, we had what were known as "rafter/barn snakes." They spent days draped over barn rafters, later to drop silently over the huge wharf rats. Unlike CA rats (the first time I saw a CA rat, I thought it was a pregnant mouse!!
