This one bill has probably had much more press than any other in recent history.
It should be noted that, although it has caused an unprecedented and tremendous response from the reptile keeping community, many thousands of other citizens have also given their time and efforts to defeat this bill.
Horse keepers, bird keepers, fish keepers, even folks who keep no pets at all have spent an incredible amount of time and energy to ensure that this bill was not passed.
I am very happy to see the reptile community come together like it has to stop this bill.
But it would be incredibly simple-minded to think that the reptile community pulled this victory by itself. Please recognize the others who have participated and made such a difference in the outcome.
Thanks.

Thanks Karl, I know we don’t always agree, this time we DO.
I had some private complaints about this USARK press release, and others too, where people were very alienated by this self praise "we r USARK., look at us ONLY saviors" approach. It got to the point with some USARK press releases, I stopped posting them on animal owners lists, kind of like calling HR669 reptile rather than exotic ban, etc...
I am grateful for what USARK is doing and Andrew deserves BIG thanks, but I truly was getting tired of the fights his press releases were causing on many animal lists where it was alienating people and causing fights, and i got tired of defending Andrew, while I myself was not all that happy with this.
But I know he defended me here before when I joined this forum and annoyed many of u with legislative posts, and was accused of being cat activist before some of you here realized that nowadays we don’t have a choice, we mall have to be activists,
So I guess I owe Andrew to now cover his rear end while/until he figures out the correct way to write and be inclusive ;-)
I believe praise should come form others and when received, the recipient shall stay humble.
I believe the role of species specific groups in legislative area is to offer guidance regarding specific husbandry issues or possibility of being invasive etc, but when it comes to defending/killing the bill, we all need to stick together regardless of species, Instead of guessing/claiming who did more work, we should keep our focus on killing the bill and take all the help we can get, and thanks everybody who helped and grateful.
I was personally not impressed with the fish guy, he was there to defend himself and his food fish industry, he was not fighting for all of us, and he seemed to be like ferret BOD group people, given exemption, he would have taken it and didn’t seem to care the rest of us would be screwed.
Never mind the aquatic species, plants and microorganisms are the MAIN invaders really.

Remember folks, I said "to name just two", obviously meaning many others were involved. To me, Andrew and Z were the most visible, so they were named specifically.
Simple as that.

Bill/CobraFan, this exchange was not directed at you:)
It was directed at USARK pres releases with suggestions to learn to share the spotlight. It is not about who did most work, it is about: is the bill dead and if not, how do we kill it, all of us together.
