Seems that the stream of "Experts" never ends.
I haven;t had to deal with akid like this in a while honestly, though most that are least of the teenage variety tend to be keen to heed least some of my advice this one seems to fall more along the lines of the next canidate for the Darwin Award...
I get this message the other day on one of my videos from this said saying:
Snakeman418: "I wish my mom would let me keep a hot, but she won't"
DING Mom wont let him... I keep tryin to get it threw to those whom are incredibly stubborn that If your THAT determined that your gona keep a hot, at least make sure your out on your own, an that your finanacialy responcible for yourself.
This kid (i call anyone younger then me kid lol) is 16 years old, for many of our male counterparts in this hobby even though of you whom had an intrest in herps then, what was on your mind at 16? Most the guys I know - Cars, Girls, maybe a job, being cool! the avergae stuff for a teen.
So this kid proceeds to respond back to me...
Snakeman418: "I am an expert snake guy. I know what I'm doing. I have caught dozens of Agkistrodons. I even free handle them sometimes. I have a passion for snakes.
And I have been bit by a cottonmouth. 2 days in the hospital, 5,000 dollars out of my dad's pocket, thats with 80% insurance, so it cost about $25,000. Even though the bite was not bad, my hand barely swole, and I proved to my mom that even the 4.5 ft. long cotton did not damage me, she still won't let me have a hot. "
I told him an ya know what thats EXACTLY the attitude that gets keepers like you n trouble. its that cocky attitude! You know you already know everything there is and frankly ya don't! i told him he waslucky that what happened ot him was all that happened, he could have lost his hand or worse!
these kids need to take the time that they have and LEARN LEARN LEARN!
Instead they wanan dive right in head first reguardly of if theres a rock in fornt of their faces they think that they are such skilled shallow divers that they can avoid it!
I have had some that heed my advice, they are ready and willingt o find someone to mentor from, willing to take precautions, an then theres the ones like this that i frankly would probly slap the taste outa their mouth if they were infront of me.
Its all fun an games untill you loose your life -_-.
sorry for the rant -_- this kid just royaly has my ire up -_-

I doubt that this kid ever got bit, if he did he is just plane stupid. His math skills lean towards the stupid side. His Mommy should have smacked him a few more times to straighten him up. I do not respond to idiot emails such as this. If you do not argue with him he will get Bord like most babies do and leave.
This kid is a wanna be with no one to teach him, probably because of his attitude. He would last with me for about five minutes and I love teaching kids but some are not worth the trouble.
Maybe when he grows up and leaves mommy and daddy he will smarten up but kids like this are the ones who you see sitting on the porch with mom and pop at the age of 35. I bet he is a drop out if he, in fact is 16 and I doubt it. Mostly because a 16 year old has some sense, and this little boy has none at all. I bet he is realy about 9 to 12 tops. Just ignore him and he wont bother you any more.

ita int so much the messaging me that bothers me, its that he an so many seem to think that hots are just anouther snake. they don't realize exactlyhow dangerous they can be.
I love teaching kids, theres nothin that pleases me more then when i go down on the river over here an snag a few snakes to go around to the camp sites an do alil education with the families about the natives. But omg! there are some that well frnakly should be castrated or fixed or whatever just to keep the stupid from being bred further into the population!
I have talked to some that are around the 16 yr old age, that would one day make great keepers, an some that are younger. The ones with a real passion. And those tend to be the ones willing though to wait untill they are finsihed with school an get out on their own to wanna get into it asiude of course from mentoring.
And persoanly I can understand nto everyone knows how to find someone, I mean less your online an what not n go on ahot forum like this you may not realize how many people in your area keep them.
I am to my knwoledge the most ative in keeping in the county I live in.
an as much as I love my best friend shelly she falls into the Dee Dee Dee catagory. if she sees a snake reguardless of if she knows what it is, she grabs it up tosses it in a box an i get a phone call a few min later that she has me a snake. Shes hard headed an I keep tryint o tell her if you can't identify it don;t touch it! I don;t care if it was goin under the woodpile leave it alone!
but anyway...
yea... haha figures my first post after being gone on here for a while is me gripin about some kid bein stupid lol.
now come on, who missed my typos!

At 16 I was the only snake expert I knew at 17 I knew every thing.BY 25 MAN I JUST GOT STUPID.I realized at that age that I could learn and I became teachable.I am 44 years old and I learn every day.I have been tought by 16 year olds on this site.Age is not always as much a factor as matureity is.If possible I would try to mentor this kid in time he may come around.
