I am not trying in any way to disrespect anyone but my question is:
Is the venomous community doing it's part to help stop the ban on the Burmese and Africian Rock Pythons?
I feel had this bill (HR2811) been about exotic venomous, there would have been a tremendous out cry from the venomous folks.
Now it's about the pythons, wanna bet if this bill is put into law as it is written what will be next?
If we ALL ban together like we have done before (HR669)we will make a difference!
Not sure what you should do, drop me a email (carolinareptileshows@gmail.com )and I will be more than happy to help point you in the right direction!
DON'T WAIT TILL IT IS TOO LATE!

i think lots of the venomous keepers are doing what they can. a friend of mine said he asked a few lizard breeders at a show if they could help and the person replied with i dont keep snakes so i dont care if they ban them.

I made my phone calls. I just wish the politicians would focus on banning something that has actually killed a few thousand people over the years like illegal aliens. Oh, er, I mean "undocumented workers".

Ditto to Al....we all know this is not just a "python issue"...it's an issue that will affect the rights of every single keeper of herps. With so many idiots out there who keep venomous herps improperly or irresponsibly, it is oftentimes difficult for me to criticize those who want to take our rights away. We are a very small sub culture of the herp hobby and if anyone is a target for stringent laws, it's us. You won't find too many politicians fighting for our rights to keep cobras in our homes and quite honestly, who cn bame them? Until we can self police our hobby, we are in deep snake doo. It starts with the breeders, the wholesalers, those who host shows. We've got to do a better job screening applicants and customers, educating them, and making sure that folks are doin thins properly and responsibly. Unfortunately, that just doesn't happen as much as it should (read that as "there are some great folks out there who do things right"!) and therefore,we are only hurting ourselves.

I have to say it, because a lot of you voted for it. Welcome to Obama's socialist nation. You no longer have a voice. Now move on.
