He wants to keep it in a 29 gallon tank as a baby. He is going to get the correct lighting and all other things necissary.
The only thing he's asking is how to keep the humidity at the correct level if you're not supposed to use cypress mulch. He's read that they can ingest it easily and get an impaction.
If he gets an iguana it will have a good sized cage as an adult. Not a fish tank.
Thanks for helping him out,
Jon

Snake eater you are suffering from lizard ADHD.It is my professional opinion that you should pick a small local lizard then let it go when you are done.Your mind jumps from one lizard to another. The lizard should not have to suffer when you change your mind and get tired of it.That is my only advice for you now. After you have kept a local lizard and Jon reports your success I will give you a few ideas but not until then.Good luck.

THANK YOU ARCHIE! I've been telling him that for a while now!
He's never going to own 20 species of lizards at this rate...
We've got some awesome native lizards that make good captives.
I'll let you guys know if I've made any progress with him.
Again, THANKS ARCHIE!

Well, it's not native, but we have decided what he's getting.
A yellow-throated plated lizard. And if he doesn't want it I'll GLADLY take it. haha.
Thanks again for all your help guys!

I got a GILA today. I never really thought I would be a lizzard kind of guy but so far I'm happy with it. It all started with some banded geckos I caught on my trip out west this past summer. Anyway a Gila is far from a gecko but I'm shocked after 36 years I'm enjoying something besides snakes! Have fun with your lizzard. Did he name it yet? I don't name my snakes but I did when I was younger but I also only had a handful.
If you/he needs more help...

I'm not sure when we're getting it. It will just be the next time we go out that way... So no, he hasen't named it yet.
Congratulations on your Gila. They are awesome. I've been able to work around a few at the Tulsa Zoo, and those were really cool.
Be safe,
Jon Short

Those are one of the best starter lizards.I suggested them on his first post. They love veggies and a pinkie or crickets.Just watch out until it gets used to being handled it will give you a nasty squirt of poop quickly.
