I went out Herpin today and found a beautiful juvenile coachwhip and a horned lizard (horny toad). Does anyone know if the Horned lizard is an endangered species and ileagel to keep, I keep getting mixed answers? Thanks!

In Oklahoma, they are a "Species of Special Concern" and cannot be removed from the wild.
You may want to consider getting a copy of
"A Field Guide to Oklahoma's Amphibians and Reptiles".
An excellent book for id and legal questions.

Wow! This was an eye opener. I paid $16 for my copy.
I just called Eric at Zoo Book Sales to see if he had any copies available and he told me that there was a very limited number printed and they are now out of print hence the high price tag.

I worked the man that made the Oklahoma Snakes website (oksnakes.org), and he told me that they are revising the book, mainly because of maps, and some wrong/not completely right information.
No telling when the new prints are coming out..
Hope this helps,
Jon
