I'll be going to the Hamburg PA show this weekend for my first time. Any recommendations for vendors at the show would be great, so if anyone's had a good experience with a particular vendor please post.
Also, I don't know the area so can anyone who's been there before recommend a place to stay... or avoid!
Thanks!

The show has gotten somewhat small as far as venomous selection. The last few times I went there was'nt much of a representation from the Hot community. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great show but I miss the old days. Basically you'll have one row that has venomous mixed in with the standard fare. When you enter the building go to the left and continue until you have to make a right. That is the isle to hit first.
I would suggest getting there at least 1 1/2 hours before doors open as the line can get INSANELY long.
As far as where to stay I can't help much there. I always stay in Carlisle which is about 45 minutes south of the show but I'm assuming you will be coming from the north so no sense in coming that far down.
There is a nice little hotel about 15 minutes south of Hamburg and will be on your side of the road if you are headed south. Can't remember the name but rates are reasonable, its clean and their is a nice little diner right there in the same parking lot.

Cabela's hunting and fishing is a good place to go after the show...the subs with your choice of emu, bison or elk are the bomb.....

diamond reptiles is usually there and always have great animals, there are a few very good venomous dealers there, same with non venomous. a friend of mine named brad mccarthy is very good, he use to have tons of venomous but has since got out of them. hes on the venomous side still because he has a few hots now and then, hes vended the show since it started and is a very good guy. other then that just talk to the vendors and look at the animals you should be able to tell who not to buy from.

Seems like the tables sporting venomous reptiles are getting fewer and fewer. Too bad, this was (and probably still is I guess) the best place to find hot snakes. Now can someone PLEASE sell some female Trans Pecos copperheads!

I ATTEMPTED to attend my first Hamburg Show and be a vendor, but after several e-mails and voicemails which were never returned...I am taking my business elsewhere.
I even had 3 other people that wanted to go with me and 2 of them wanted to be vendors also.
As a show promoter myself, I find this appalling.

Tim,
Did you try both promoters of the show? If not please try to contact the one who is now handling the shows in various locations within Pa. They are looking for new vendors for their shows so I imagine you will have better luck.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I had a great time in PA this weekend... got much more than I had planned but that's the addictive nature of this hobby I suppose!
Thanks again for all the support from this forum. Someone here was actually kind enough to email me and take me around the show to meet some of the vendors.
I will definitely attend the next show that my bank account allows me to!
