Hey everyone, Wil here.
Quick question about cage temps on this species. I’ve seen tons of info for squams, but very little for these guys. For those who currently keep them, what do you have your cage temps set at? I retrofit a shelf with heat in the back until I build a cage for it.
Speaking of cages, I was thinking 18W x 18D x 24H (inches). This should be plenty of room for this species right? I’ve kept many rattlesnakes and coppers, but this is my first arboreal viper. Feel free to post pics of your cages if you want.
Thanks

I had a lone male that I kept in an enclosure exactly that size. I kept him nearly identically to my B. schlegelii and he thrived. Very cool little snake, though not very lively in terms of activity. I used undercage heating, and lighting during the day and misted fairly regularly. Cage temp averaged mid 80's, with lows near 80 and highs near 90.
