Lol, yes, watch out for those crazy Terrapene! :) "Most dangerous" is a very relative term. Some people would swear by it being one thing, others by another. For example, it'd be very easy to say that the puff adder or saw-scaled viper is the most dangerous based upon human deaths which can be attributed to either species. Likewise, it can easily be said that taipans or brownsnakes are the most dangerous, based on venom toxicity and general willingness to bite. I'd give you my opinion and reasoning behind what I consider the most dangerous, but I've already been jumped on once for that so if you want it, e-mail me (rvsnakes@direcway.com). So again, it's all perspective, opinion, and personal experience. I'd say it's a pretty safe bet to say puffs, saw-scaleds, taipans, brownsnakes, mambas, and some of the larger Bothrops and Lachesis could all easily qualify for the most dangerous snakes on the planet.

Hi blue-mamber,
If you are asking which reptile would be the most dangerous to have your self locked in a room with then hands down it would be a Nile/Saltwater Croc!!!!:-)
If you are speaking in terms of venomous reptiles then, well, its all relative to the situation. Some may say Taipans or Mambas yada yada yada but people have inclosed them selfs within small rooms with several specimens of both sp at a time, for many days on end with no probs. Of cource they wernt realy ticking the animals off either. Had they been trying to handle or restrain the animals then I would bet the outcome to be different. Way to many varibles in play to pinpoint any one sp as being more or less dangerous.
Personaly I think the most dangerous situation regarding a venomous sp one could get into would involve a cottonmouth. What, you dont belive me? Go lock your self in small room with a rat tied to your pant leg and then tell me how dangerous cottonmouths are:-)
Adios,
J

Hi all,I was watching animal planet with this aussie and he said something very interesting!!! "The most dangerous snake is the one hanging from your leg or finger" LOL
My opinion, seeing that I live here in south africa it would be the black mamba!!! Its sheer speed, aggressiveness, size and venom toxicity makes it quite a handfull.
Sure you get the worlds ten most venomous snakes!
but once again thats only my opinion. It could also be because (and i feel ashamed to say) it is the only snake that i'm afraid to catch here in SA!!! LOL
Be safe!!! Quintin (BREEZER)

Black mamba! The most volatile snake on earth, territorial, FAST, agile, they strike repeatedly, a highly toxic venom, before antivenom there was a 100% death rate. There is no doubt that this is the most dangerous snake in the world, and one of the most dangerous animals in the world. This snake demands respect.

If I had to say what the most dangerous reptile is I would say the black-mamba or the reticulated python. I say the black-mamba becouse they are very venmous and they fallow the attacker or human, I also say the reticulated python becouse they have been know to eat seven people.
